What to Look for in a Telemarketing Firm

Digital Library > Defining and Serving a Market > Telemarketing “What to Look for in a Telemarketing Firm”

Consider letting someone else’s fingers do the dialing for your next telemarketing effort. Outsourcing allows you to:

  • Save money. No need to hire new staff or train existing staff.
  • Reach your goals faster. One of the biggest advantages of outsourcing telemarketing is the ability to meet a goal in a crunch without a tremendous cash outlay.
  • Maintain employee morale. Adding telemarketing tasks to existing job descriptions often results in distraction, resentment and half-baked job performance.
  • Provide better customer service. A telemarketing firm can provide 24-hour-response telephone service.

Diligently do your homework on any prospective firms. Don’t hesitate to drop in unannounced. Are the reps sitting around chewing gum, or are they hustling? Is the phone area free of clutter, or are reps tripping over boxes? Use your impressions to tip the scale if the decision is close. Also take note of whether the firm touts: long-term financial stability, adequate experience for your task, capable management, ample phone lines, excellent references, good system controls, well-trained reps, a convenient location, the same focus as your company and fulfillment capacity.
