A former U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, Jon Tellier is founder and president of Grand Rapids-based JetCo Solutions. In this position he recruits and leads a growing team of employees who help other businesses sell to government agencies. JetCo Solutions has earned a strong reputation among the Michigan defense industry, winning contracts valued at more than $4 billion.
A leader in military, veteran and business affairs, Jon has developed relationships with industry, academia, local communities and government. He serves on several committees and boards supporting youth, families, veterans and business. He represents several congressional districts in Michigan as a Military Academy Liaison Officer (MALO) and nationally for veteran and military initiatives and issues.
During his military career Jon served in multiple leadership positions from platoon to company command including a deployment to Iraq in support of Operation Desert Shield and Storm. The paratrooper and combat veteran retired as a lieutenant colonel after 23 years of service and 82 parachute jumps. He has been recognized with a Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, Ranger Tab and Master Parachutist Badge. On the business front, JetCo Solutions has been recognized as the 2015 Veteran-Owned Business of the Year by the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce and a 2017 Michigan 50 Companies to Watch honoree.
Jon holds a a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy and a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Mississippi. His military education also includes completion of the Command and General Staff College.
