The Entrepreneurship Team
The Edward Lowe Foundation was established by Ed and Darlene Lowe in 1985. In contrast to most U.S. foundations, which are grant-giving entities, we are an operating foundation that funds its own programs.

Entrepreneurship team
Nancy Goodrich began in 1988 as Edward Lowe’s administrative assistant. She says working with Ed taught her to be open to new ideas in an environment that accepted and expected change. Her job consisted of more than just typical office duties such as scheduling appointments and managing correspondence. “My days were never boring,” Goodrich recalls. “I was included in meetings and sometimes asked to travel to Florida, Chicago or one of the plant locations, and it wasn’t unusual for Ed to ask my opinion on various topics.”
With adaptability as one of her character traits, over the years Goodrich has been useful during staff and program transitions. Her current title of manager of administrative services allows flexibility to perform wide-ranging functions throughout the organization related to administration, customer services, editing, accounting, entrepreneurship programs and Local Contributions and Safety committees.
Goodrich has served on the Restorative Justice Board for the juvenile court; held offices of chairman, vice chairman and secretary for her church administrative council; as a Big Sister for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cass and Berrien counties; and volunteered at Michigan Nature Association preserves. She holds a bachelor’s degree in management and organizational development from Spring Arbor University.
