Entrepreneur in Residence

Our Entrepreneur-in-Residence program gives second-stage business owners the rare opportunity to hit the pause button and reflect on both themselves and their companies.

Take time out to invest in yourself

This by-invitation retreat enables participants to step back, take stock and recharge in Big Rock Valley’s inspirational setting, which is comprised of 2,000 acres of woodlands, prairies, ponds and streams. The objective is to identify and address challenging issues in your professional and personal life — and return as a better version of yourself.

LOCATION — Big Rock Valley (BRV), located about 3.5 miles northeast of Cassopolis, Michigan, at 58220 Decatur Road.

PREP AND FOLLOW-UP CALLS — Although structured loosely, this is a learning event, not a vacation (so no family or friends may accompany you). Prior to your stay, one of our team members will phone you to discuss specific issues that you plan to work on. A workbook will provide you with a series of reflection exercises, and we’ll prepare reading materials that are customized to address your particular issues. We will also schedule a follow-up call to discuss your outcomes and how you plan to move forward.

MEALS AND LODGING — Guests will stay at one of our renovated farmhouses, some of which date back to the mid-1800s. Although equipped with modern conveniences, much of these buildings’ original construction has been preserved. Meals, the handiwork of Chef José Ruiz and his amazing team, are guaranteed to be a white-glove experience.

COST — $1,200, which helps cover some of the expenses for the retreat.

CONTACT — For more information about our Entrepreneur-in-Residence retreat, contact Robin Joye at robin@lowe.org.
