Jack McCarthy became involved with Ed and Darlene Lowe during the sale of the litter business in 1990. He practiced law in Chicago as a securities/merger and acquisition lawyer for over 50 years, primarily with the Bell, Boyd & Lloyd firm, where he served as chairman for over 20 years.
After the sale of the Golden Cat, Jack continued to be involved as a Member of the Edward Lowe Foundation from 1998 to 2017. Members are responsible for electing the trustees of the foundation.
Jack was the proud father of four children and 11 grandchildren.
